Thank you for choosing Tri-State Memorial Hospital for your care. Whether you are an inpatient or an outpatient, the pharmacy staff will be working behind the scenes to insure you receive the best and most cost-effective pharmaceutical care available. Our staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to consult with the physician staff, as well as the support staff, to help get you the right medication, in the right dose, at the right time for your specific medical needs. Whether it’s contrast from radiology, a breathing treatment from respiratory therapy, or a nurse administering your medications, pharmacy has reviewed and approved all medication orders. It’s our responsibility to check for drug-drug, drug-food, drug-allergy, and drug-disease interactions.
If you’re having surgery, which requires an over-night stay, there is a good chance you will be interviewed by a pharmacist at your pre-op visit. We take this opportunity to thoroughly discuss all the medications, vitamins, minerals, herbs, or homeopathic remedies you may be taking. So, make sure to bring an accurate list – we won’t stop until we get the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!!
If you have been scheduled to receive an infusion, either an antibiotic, chemotherapy, or a “specialty” product as an outpatient, the pharmacy is actively involved in many different aspects. We may be asked to monitor your dose and make adjustments if needed, order and interpret laboratory values, and provide educational materials and guidelines for the safe and effective administration of the drug. Additionally, with the help of our business office, we make every attempt to let our patients know up front if their medication therapy will be covered or if there are any special requirements that must be satisfied prior to the initiation of therapy.
Our pharmacists are active within the community by providing education for other health care professionals and patient education seminars when asked or when we recognize a need. We are also available to do “room” calls anytime a patient or family member may request us or if we have specific questions that only you can answer.
It takes a diverse group of professionals to provide the excellent care that this community has come to expect from Tri-State Memorial Hospital. The pharmacy is a very active and intricate part of the “Team That Makes a Difference.” Oh yeah, we also dispense your medications……..
