The Intensive / Coronary Care Unit is a four-bed Critical Care unit that also has the capability to monitor six additional beds with a remote (telemetry) cardiac monitor system. The ICCU focuses on the care of the critically ill or injured patient who needs close observation and care by specially skilled and educated nurses. The Nursing staff of the ICCU are trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and many are credentialed as Certified Critical Care Nurses. The technical cardiac monitoring system is a state of the art Philips Medical bedside and telemetry monitoring system that continuously monitors the cardiac rhythm. This system also has the capability for continuous monitoring of the blood pressure, temperature and specific heart pressures that are important in determination of the treatment of the critically ill patient.

Families of the patients in our ICCU / Telemetry unit can remain close to their loved ones by using a comfortable and private waiting room that is adjacent to the Unit. The ICCU staff strives to keep the family members informed of the patient's condition and allows open visitation whenever possible.
